TNP Ccompletes Development of NSUH Community House Website

Glen Cove, NY - November 1, 2002 - The Next Page has completed development of a professional Internet presence for the Community House, division of Substance Abuse Services for North Shore University Hospital at Glen Cove.

When it comes to parents worrying about their children using drugs, or someone concerned about a loved one's excessive drinking, nothing can be more frustrating than not knowing where to turn for help. To make the process easier, North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) at Glen Cove has launched a new comprehensive website to answer questions about substance abuse and treatment options. To access information visit www.glencoveCH.org.

Developed by The Next Page for the hospital's division of Substance Abuse Services, known as Community House, the website provides information about its outpatient services, current information about the major drugs of abuse, testimonials from patients, and an online advice column, Dear Community House. Individuals can e-mail their questions to the column and receive a response from a senior member of Community House's clinical staff within 24 hours or the next business day.

"The new website offers parents and other concerned individuals another way to seek confidential information about substance abuse and mental health programs," said John Imhof, PhD, vice president of behavioral health services at NSUH at Glen Cove. "Now, we're just a click away and we hope the community will take advantage of the many online services we are providing."

On the subject of the Website development process Dr. Imhoff said “The Next Page is a group of savvy professionals well versed and highly experienced in website development. They can make a single site speak volumes about an organization, its products, goals, and most important for health care organizations, reaching the consumer in need of information and assistance. If you want your organization or business best understood and responded to by the public, use The Next Page with complete confidence."

The website highlights each of Community House's six major treatment programs, including the Adolescent Services Unit, the Women's and Children's Program, the Dual Diagnosis Program, the Outpatient Drug-Free Program, the Methadone Treatment Program and the Adolescent Wellness Program. It also provides information about staff, new education and training programs, current events related to drug and alcohol use, links to state and federal websites on substance abuse and mental health.

Established in 1972, Community House is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations and serves residents of Nassau County. The programs and services of the Division of Substance Abuse Services are funded in part by the Nassau County Department of Drug and Alcohol Addiction, and the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services.
