 Project Summary
Platinum MD is a startup founded and supported by several top cardiologist in the US. Platinum has answered a growing need by using the latest state of the art technology combined with a commitment to improving the quality of patient cardiac care to create the SMART Cardiology Record System. PlatinumMD members and physicians will now possess the power to access a member's critical medical information and test results any time, any place.
TNP was contracted to design and program the Administrative back-office support application to manage Platinum system users, security, and manage scan images of patient documents.
The complete system was developed using ASP, HTML/DHTML, and JavaScript under a SQL Server 2000 database on Windows 2000 servers. Creative use of and custom DHTML/JavaScript programming with additional 3rd party JavaScript libraries made for a clean user interface simulating the look and feel of a windows application.
Extensive use of SQL Server 2000 features such as Stored Procedures, Functions, XML integration and Triggers, combined with TNP's framework of ASP scripts, allows the Platinum web application to handle demanding data requirements.
A custom Image Upload Manager was developed to give users the ability to attach and associate multiple images to a particular patient record. A 3rd party software tool from Software Artisans (SAFileUp) manages multiple uploads in transaction mode along with custom DHTML programming for upload validation routines.
Administrative Security and User Manager applications were developed to manage system users and control access to different sections of the site based on user-assigned rights. The User Manager module maintains detailed demographics, security role management, logon activity, and selective audit history by user.
TNP also introduced and programmed sign-up activity workflow to guide system users through a variety of procedures based on specific internal flags.
