 Project Summary
The FishingShop is an active brick & mortar store with a vast selection of inventory in fishing and tackle supplies and accessories. The FishingShop wanted a venue to reach fishing fans across the country and decided to expand their operations to include the Internet.
TNP was contracted to develop an Internet e-commerce site where visitors would be able to do complex searches through inventory and make their purchases online. The FishingShop also wanted to create a "community" where visitors can obtain information about the industry and interact with other visitors.
TNP developed the site layout with a complete e-commerce solution, including a custom shopping cart and secure credit card processing. Additionally TNP designed a real-time administrative web interface to a SQL Server database using ASP giving FishingShop personnel the ability to manage store users, vendors, inventory and order processing.
- Client-side Javascript is used for the checkout process to handle navigation and form validation routines in a multi-part tabbed html form.
- Client-side VBScript is used on the administrative browser-based interface for navigation, form validation routines and XML data island processing.
- Crystal Web Reports were incorporated to meet all reporting requirements on back-end inventory status as well as order processing.
