Project Summary
The Baldwin Fire Department was a popular, content rich (but static) web site. With numerous hose companies, fire personnel and a lot of history, much time, effort and $ was expended to continually have a contract HTML designer keep this content current.
TNP was selected to create a browser-based back-end process to provide BFD personnel the ability to administer these areas of their website and to fascilitate real-time site updates.
TNP developed a back-end administrative interface to support the maintaince of users, BFD firefighters, major fires, and BFD history data. We then converted the static web pages to Active Server Pages running against a SQL Server database.
TNP also created a image retrieval system to handle directory browsing for image selection and insertion into the database. Third party Active-X components were used to handle file/image uploading remotely from the client’s browser into the database, with another component to dynamically create a thumb index of the uploaded images.
